Congress Politics: If Ashok Gehlot becomes Congress President, he will have to leave the post of CM, Rahul Gandhi hints

Jaipur: After becoming the National President of Congress, Ashok Gehlot will have to leave the post of Chief Minister. Rahul Gandhi has indicated this in a press conference held in Kerala. Responding to media queries, Rahul Gandhi said that the one person one post formula does not apply here, but if someone holds the post of Chief Minister as Congress President, then how will he be able to focus on the whole country. It has become clear from this reply of Rahul Gandhi that if Ashok Gehlot becomes the national president of the party, then he will have to leave the post of Chief Minister. While talking to the media in Delhi on Wednesday, Ashok Gehlot had said that it is not necessary that someone becomes the national president, then he cannot stay on another post. If someone becomes the national president of the party while holding the post of minister or chief minister, then there is no harm in it because the national president is not a nominated post but is made through elections. According to Gehlot, this one person does not come in the one post formula.

Rahul Gandhi mentioned about Udaipur Declaration
Rahul Gandhi has also mentioned about the declaration held in the Chintan Shivir held in Udaipur from May 13 to 15. He said that at that time it was promised that one person would not hold two posts. In such a situation, it is obvious that if someone becomes the national president of the party, then how can he stay on the chief minister’s post. After this indication of Rahul Gandhi, now the discussion on the new face of the Chief Minister has started in the Congress. However, the name of Sachin Pilot is being considered at the top of the discussions. Now it has to be seen whether the Chief Minister of Rajasthan is of the choice of Ashok Gehlot or the choice of the high command.

Concerns of pro-Gehlot leaders increased
Before leaving for Delhi, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had assured that he would not leave Rajasthan in the meeting of the Legislature Party held at the Chief Minister’s residence on Tuesday night. Irrespective of the responsibility of any post he is given. With this promise of Gehlot, the faces of many state Congress leaders blossomed. He made open statements in the media that the Chief Minister of Rajasthan is Ashok Gehlot and will remain Ashok Gehlot. Gehlot’s statement of preparations for the presentation of the upcoming budget was also given. Cabinet Minister Pratapsinh Khachariawas and Deputy Chief Whip Mahendra Chaudhary cited examples of several parties including the Aam Aadmi Party and the Samajwadi Party. He said that in many political parties, along with being the national president of the party, the responsibility of the chief minister’s post is also being handled.
